My Amazing Mentors...
David Quinn from the South Asheville Cemetery has been absolutely instrumental in telling more about the work that George Avery has done at the cemetery. He gave me access to Avery's papers form the Bureau of Pensions. Moreover, he worked around my schedule and always answered my e-mails promptly. Overall, I am lucky to have found a mentor who not only believes in me, but who also is as passionate as I am about the history of slavery.

Lisa Whitfield works as the education coordinator at the Smith-McDowell House. She does a great job at organizing events and contacting people. In fact, she is the one who helped me contact Mr. Quinn. Overall, she is a very efficient woman who enjoys her work. I had a great time helping her with the events and particularly the Living History Day event.
He has a right to criticize, who has a heart to help... Dr. Ellen Pearson teaches American history at UNC-A. She has worked with David Quinn on various projects pertaining to the South Asheville Cemetery. She edited my research paper and gave great suggestions. I will interview her for my film. Although a busy professor,so far she has patiently worked with me.
